Embrace a new style of green.

Remove the superfluous from your lives.  Eliminate waste to feel lighter. Making room for what really matters. Enjoy the beauty of a sunset. Let yourself be lulled by the song of the wind. Have more free time to take care of yourself. Change your (bad) habits. Reflect on the impact that your consumption choices and actions have on the lives of others and on the well-being of the entire planet.

Living better with less is possible for those who choose to embrace a Greenimal lifestyle approach!

A term that I chose to enclose two worlds and philosophies that have many points in common: Green and Minimalism.

Two concepts different in shape and cultural origin, but complementary and in perfect balance with each other, just like Zen stones. Placed on top of each other, they remind us that harmony and well-being can be achieved by making more sustainable and essential choices.

The art of minimalism.

I have always loved the minimalist style in all its expressive forms: from art to design, from architecture to fashion, from cooking to decor.

Travel and my passion for photography were the main tools that helped me to approach this world.

The aesthetics of the essential were the first to catch my attention. Then all the other senses followed. It was a growing emotional involvement, which helped me to discover the most important value of minimalism: getting rid of the superfluous. Only in this way is it possible to perceive the essence of things and existence itself.

Mine was a personal research that did not stop at the famous claim “Less is more” of Mies Van der Rohe, but that pushed me further to find that conceptual minimalism in many different places. Like in the wonderful landscapes of Swedish nature. Their linear, almost stylized shapes inspired me so strongly in the years I worked for Saab that I decided to organize the “Scandinavian Wave” exhibition precisely to celebrate the beauty of Scandinavian minimalism.

Design is becoming greener and greener.

Can you be green even in the comfort of your own home? The answer is Yes and the lesson is given to us by Nature itself. Just observe it, admire it, listen to it, love it and respect it to learn to live better, in harmony with yourself and with everything around you.

Nature has always been a powerful source of inspiration for everyone: men, poets, philosophers, scientists, artists, musicians, writers, designers, architects. Everything we imagine, Nature has already done perfectly.

Nature is minimal by definition. It has nothing superfluous because it is simple and authentic in all the elements that compose it: colors, shapes, smells, materials and geometries.

Being inspired by it produces positive effects not only on the quality of life but also on people’s creativity. This was demonstrated by the Swedish Studio Front which decided to design furnishing objects that recreate the feeling of well-being that one feels when immersed in nature.

To carry out the “Design by Nature” project, designers Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren have spent the last four years observing plants and animals, creating an entire collection of furnishings that reproduce the shapes and patterns of the characteristic Swedish vegetation, such as the famous chair-rock or sofa with moss effect.

Is future Greenimal?

Are we ready to give a green and minimal change to our life? In recent years, more and more brands have begun to be, think and act in a Greenimal way, following this double direction and combining their business models with a more responsible and sustainable approach.

Some sectors such as automotive (Tesla), fashion (Oft), technology (Apple), sport (Vibram) eco travel (Bouteco) have understood the importance of integrating these two worlds, minimalism and environmental sustainability, to contribute to the protection of the planet and the well-being of future generations.

A choice that suits everyone and that is good for everyone. Because being Greenimal is the key to living better!

We will spend this weekend together in the green.

The greenimal lifestyle aproach has many facets, as many as the different lifestyles that people live. Are you green? I feel like a “creative greenimalist”, that is, careful to grasp the beauty of Nature, interpreting its shape and essence through my photographic eye.

If you are interested in immersing yourself in my personal green vision, I am waiting for you on my Instagram channel.
