Lots of emotions in the air.
But there is one thing that makes this season even more special. The unmistakable chirping of Rondine Motor, the Roman brand owned by the Nuccitelli brothers, two very special “swallows”, passionate about motorcycles, hi-tech design and sustainability.
I met Filippo exactly one year ago. He contacted me after reading one of my many FRAdays, asking me to meet to talk about a project he had been thinking about for some time. Being a motorcycle lover myself, I accepted the invitation instantly. We met for a drink in a little bar in Piazza Testaccio.
Three hours flew away between spritzes and an overwhelming presentation on the history of Rondine and its evolution, made of men, technological challenges and courageous dreams.
An icon that has traveled on the wings of innovation and is now ready to face the new challenges of sustainability, thanks to the enthusiasm and visionary planning of the Nuccitelli family.
In the nest of Rondine Motor.
The opportunity to meet the two brothers together came about a month ago, when they invited me to join them outside of Rome, in their operational nest. It is there that Filippo and Marco told me how this incredible adventure began when in 2000 they decided to create “Rondine Motor” to carry out innovative research in the motorcycle sector.
What unites them is not only the same surname, but a very strong passion that they have always and forever shared. This special alchemy between them can be perceived even from afar, like the song of swallows announcing a new era.
This was the case with the RRV1, the first motorcycle prototype presented in 2005, a unique model both in terms of design and innovative technological solutions.
The same magic was repeated again with Elettra, the full electric model that came to light in 2015 to bring Rondine Motor’s green revolution around the world.
The art of turning pears into strawberries.
There is a very amusing anecdote that Filippo told me and which makes us understand the particular bond that exists with his brother Marco, both in life and work :
Years ago I was asked to make strawberries and I didn’t know how to do them. When Marco came to see me he asked me: why did you make these pears if they were supposed to be strawberries? He took them and turned them into strawberries.

Filippo dreams, Marco interprets.
Filippo is the visionary, Marco the designer
On the wings of “Made in Italy”.
The story of Elettra is that of a great dream come true and which illuminated the new path undertaken by Rondine Motor since 2010 in the direction of sustainable mobility.
An all-Italian dream, fueled by the ingenuity and perseverance of two brothers who never gave up in front of difficulties and new technological challenges, moving forward and projecting their business into the future, to respond to the changes taking place and find environmentally friendly solutions through green engineering.
Presented for the first time in Helsinki in 2012, Elettra was elected ambassador of Made in Italy, becoming part of the prestigious works of the Farnesina Design Collection.
A very important recognition for the Nuccitelli brothers, two swallows that have never stopped flying on the wings of their dreams.
Migration from past to future.
To the question “How do you see the future of Rondine Motor?” both brothers feel the same way.
Filippo tells me:
I see the future as a totally different awareness, also environmental…But I would like to move Rondine towards a more emotional and more sentimental part, with an Italian design that reflects our culture and an industrial system based on ease of assembly.

Marco smiles at me and adds :
Let’s take flight together this week end.
Filippo and Marco taught me that if you have passion, no one can stop you, because it allows every man to go forward and turn his dreams into reality.
