Rebirth after the crisis.

There is no shorter holiday than Easter: it comes and goes. Short but intense, it is by far the period of the year that I prefer, because it is full of symbols, rituals and traditions that I love.

Rebirth is one of them. Losing a job, a role, a certain security puts anyone in crisis. There are those who live this hard moment in life as a defeat. Others, on the other hand, as an opportunity. That’s what I did, being reborn from my ashes to discover things about myself that I had never had the opportunity to live before.

Rhythms, interests, projects, encounters. Today everything is completely new for my egg*o.

Easter in my childhood.

I remember the colorful egg hunt, hidden among the branches and roots of trees in the large park of my grandfather’s property. We were a big family and when Easter came we would gather in Platteville, near Paris, with all my French cousins.

A small army of excited kids who were waiting for nothing but the “green light” of adults to start the competition and find every possible egg!

A nice tradition that marked the most beautiful years of my childhood, when everything had a special flavor.

Resurrection of joy.

Regardless of your religion, or whether you believe in God or not, I have always considered Easter “a story with a happy ending”. A story that concerns all of us and that tells us how, at the end of everything, an unexpected event takes place bringing a message of Hope for the Future.

Because whatever “Black Friday” we are going through in our life, this holiday reminds us that new light and joy are ready to reappear within us. Believing in it is not just an act of faith, but an act of courage.

The Via Crucis of people who suffer.

Today is Good Friday, a day of deep thoughts for me. My memories take me far away, to the Novalesa Monastery, where a few years ago I spent Easter with my father. The bonfire set up for the vigil illuminating the faces of the monks in contemplation looked like a painting of Caravaggio.

Those flames that vibrated before my eyes still flare up in my heart, because they contain the path of suffering and purification of my twin brother Ranieri in the last months of his terrible illness.

His Via Crucis was a journey towards a new life. Despite the unspeakable pain, he never stopped smiling and sharing the time he had left to transfer his immense love for life and art to others, to us brothers, to his family.

It was the greatest testimony of love ever and I can only kneel before so much strength.

This weekend I would like to celebrate with you Hope and Inclusion.

Values that I discovered in the faces, gestures and smiles of the people I was lucky to meet during my travelling. If you want to discover them, I have prepared a photo tour on my Instagram Page.

Happy Easter and Happy Rebirth to all!
